FAQ
The Answers You Need
The Process?
1. INITIAL CONSULTATION -- All clients have a free initial consultation to discuss the type of costume they need. We ask that you provide as much information (music, theme, color, style, etc.) at this initial meeting.
2. DESIGN -- Once the client is comfortable with the initial consultation, the designer can provide sketches (illustrative and technical) of design ideas to the client. We ask for a non-refundable $100 deposit for this service. If the client would like us to construct the costume, this fee will go toward the final cost of the costume.
3. CONSTRUCTION and DELIVERY -- After all design ideas have been approved and the client decides to have us construct the costume, a 50% deposit and accurate measurements will be due at that time. The remaining balance will be due at delivery.
Measurements?
Shown above is a measuring guide for your reference. For a customized dress, the following measurements are needed: Girth, Bust, Waist, Hips, Skirt Length, and Sleeve Length & Bicep (if applicable).
The most important measurement is the Girth or Torso. Please have the skater stand tall, but relaxed and place the measuring tape on the shoulder as shown on the (first picture), extending it down along the back of the body, between the legs and up the front, and when the tape completes a full circle, that is your correct “Girth” measurement. Please also measure the Bust, Waist, and Hips as shown in the attached pictures. For ice dancing costumes, please provide specific skirt length (if desired), which is measured from the waist-line down to the end of skirt. In addition, please provide the bicep measurement, which is a full circle around the upper arm, and the sleeve length, which is measured from the top shoulder-arm seam line down to the end point for the regular style or to the knuckle of the middle finger for the finger-loop style.
